Thank you to everyone who came to our phonics coffee morning today.  Ms Holly and I were really happy with the attendance and pleased to answer your questions.  In response to some of the feedback you gave us I have put a link on our phonics tab to a video that will show you clearly how to pronounce all of the sounds we teach.  I hope this helps, come and ask myself or Mr John any further questions you may have.

The Big Draw

This week planet T and Planet X have had so much fun taking part in the big draw here are some of the things we drew.  Don't forget to do the weekend challenges at home for days 6&7. Mr John and Ms Hayley would love to see what you draw.

Word Ribbons

F3 children have all recently come home with a 'word ribbon' that contains the first set of high frequency words that we have taught them.  Please practice these words with your children at home as they are words that they will regularly see in the reading books that they are beginning to take home.  We will continue to add words to their ribbons throughout the term for them to learn and the teachers will only remove words once the children are consistently reading them in a range of books.  Thank you for your help, happy practising!

We are learning sounds!

We have started learning sounds in our phonics lessons!  We are getting good and reading these sounds and listening for them at the beginning of words.  Soon parents will be invited to a coffee morning to find out more about how we teach your children phonics.

Don't forget the children need to bring their pj's to school tomorrow ready for our snuggle up and read.

Getting ready for brilliant book day!

The children in F3 have been hard at work drawing and decorating large aliens and pants ready for book day. They all worked brilliantly as a team to get things done. Look out for them in our F3 corridor!

‘BRILLIANT BOOKS’ is a two day book event coming to TX on the 28th and 29th of September. During this time, TX will celebrate our love of books and reading. There will be two fantastic visiting authors from the UK called Steve Barlow and Steve Skidmore. They will be doing workshops with all the classes. All staff and children are dressing up as book characters on Monday 28th September and the colourful character parade will be held for children and staff at 8.30am.
BIS is also proud to present the 2015 Book Fair at TX in partnership with Fahasa, being held in the TX library.
To all parents, staff and friends of TX, we are excited to announce that the Book Fair is coming to the TX Library on Monday 28th and 29th of September. The Book Fair will be open from 7.30am – 4.00pm.
The Book Fair will be located in the TX Library. Each class will be visiting the Book Fair throughout the two days. Children will be able to reserve books that they would like to buy during this time.
Parents will be able to accompany their children to the Book Fair from 7.30am – 8.00am and 2.30pm – 4.00pm on both days. Parents will be able to pay and collect their children’s books during the hours of the Book Fair.
Please do not allow children to bring money to school. Fahasa will only accept payment from adults.
Fahasa will bring a huge selection of children’s books, as well as some books for adults. There will be multiple copies of each book so do not worry about there not being enough books for everyone!
