Wow this term has gone so quickly!  To celebrate such an exciting term we have got a busy week in F3 next week.  Here's what's happening...

Tuesday 5th April
No PE - The children will be watching the dress rehearsal of the MP3 production 'The Lion King'

Wednesday 6th April
Please can the children bring in their swimming kits as we will be learning about capacity in our Maths lessons using the splash pool.

Friday 8th April
F3 are having a banquet!  Throughout the week the children will be preparing to have a banquet.  They will write invitations, prepare snacks and make decorations.  Please can they come to school on Friday dressed for a royal banquet.  They can be princesses, kings, queens, knights or just wear their home clothes.

Friday 8th April - School finishes at 11:30am.

Fantasy Castles

This week the children have been busy learning about castles from around the world and who might live in them.  They were particularly interested in what witches and wizards might do and were very excited about all of the magic that they make!  Have a look at the pictures below showing our lovely learning.

We loved using books to help us design and make a castle using the big bricks.

We made wands that each had their own special magic power.

We wrote about the characters that were in the story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson.

We sequenced pictures from the story too and practised re-telling the events.

Carrie's magic wand makes people laugh so much that they fall over!

Here is the castle that The An designed.  He later built it with his friends and some knights moved in with their horses.

We worked together to build castles using 3D shapes.  In maths this week we have been learning their names.

Can you name the 3D shapes that Manar used to build her castle?

Minh Quan enjoyed looking at castles from the past.

In phonics some of the children dug sounds up in the sand pit and put them together to make words.

We have been enjoying using story language to make up stories about witches and dragons using the story telling pebbles.

Here Dung has built a castle from a picture he saw.

We are al looking forward to learning more about castles next week and have something very exciting planned for the last day of term!

The Zoo!

F3 had a fantastic day on Wednesday at the Zoo!  The children behaved brilliantly as walked around the Zoo looking at all of the animals.  Some of their favourite animals included the giraffes, elephants and the wolf!  The children have all really enjoyed learning about Zoo animals and we were very proud of them as they sensibly walked around the Zoo following the guide maps. It was both a fun and tiring day!
